My favorite is Instagram. Let me explain why (below):
Before Instagram, I was still an entrepreneur. I was working with my family to expand our small businesses. We own preschools in Texas, and like everyone else, I used Instagram and Facebook to pass time and keep up with friends.
I’d always dreamt of being a writer, though. I put the final touches on a fantasy book in 2015, and I did what every aspiring writer does. I began to pitch literary agents.
Looking back, I was a bit too optimistic when I hit send. I remember anxiously refreshing my email every day, hoping there’d be even one “send me more” in my inbox—but no. All I got was a steady stream of rejections.
I was frustrated with getting told “no,” so I decided then that I would become so big, no publisher would ignore me.
I would start a blog!
Again, naivety. Every other person has a blog nowadays, but I was determined to put my marketing degree to use. I created a blog centered around entrepreneurship and self development and went to work writing posts…
And of course, all I got were crickets, until I made an Instagram post to drive traffic to the site.
No sooner had I made the account and posted my first picture did I receive 3, then 5, and then 10 followers. I blinked.
What was happening? Where were these people coming from…?
Before I knew it, I had 100s of followers on Instagram, and I realized then the power of this platform. I saw an ad for a webinar by Foundr about Instagram, so I figured, let me learn as much as I can about it.
I watched the webinar and in the end came the $1000 offer: Learn How to Dominate Instagram.
I’d never paid $1000 for a class in my life, but after hearing testimonial upon testimonial of successful students, I took a deep breath and entered my credit card credentials…
One year later, Instagram allowed me to achieve the following results:
Over $100,000
15k followers
Featured in Forbes, Entrepreneur, Inc, Huffington Post, Journeys to Success Radio, Texas Business Radio, Houston Chronicle, and more
And the most important….I co-authored a best-selling book Journeys to Success: The Millennial Edition.
So yes, Instagram is by far my favorite followed by Facebook and Quora.
